Timberscombe vs Monksilver 1st July 2008
Timbuck traveled to Brompton Ralph and won a tight game against Monksilver in soggy conditions in the 20th over. Monksilver batted in the dry conditions but only Jason Bindon retired on 30 and John Kidd hit a useful 24 not out. Leading wicket taker Russell Summersgill bowled both openers, and G Storey span well to take another wicket and an amazing caught and bowled from Perkins claimed the fourth wicket, which restricted Monksilver to two short of the magical ton.
Timberscombe struggled as conditions went from light to heavy rain and the light faded. Starting slowly Summersgill, who was forced to open, ended his run of ducks and occupied the crease for a long time with a pedestrian 10 runs off 27 balls. Nick Hill (8) and Paul Sparks (28) were both run out trying to increase the rate. Abbott came in and scored a run a ball 19 to leave Jez Dibble 4 not out and Ian Buchanan 17 not out to see the game home in the 20th over; with the latter hitting another boundary after a fielder missed a difficult catch, allowing the score to finish on exactly 100.
