Timberscombe v Stoke St Mary 15 August 2009
Timberscombe bounced back from defeat the previous week with a
comprehensive 9 wicket win.
Having elected to bat Stoke were soon in trouble as wickets fell in
the early overs. A fourth wicket partnership of 36 proved to be their
best as they slumped from 93 for 3 to 114 all out. Only Ed Hopkinson
was able to trouble the home bowlers with a hard hit 48. Kev Godfrey
proved to be the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets from his 9 overs
for only 22 runs.
In reply openers Ben Bowman and Hannah Sparks were well in command and
made short work of the Stoke bowling. With both batters finding
boundaries easy to come by they reached a 105 partnership before Bowman
fell on 51. Hannah Sparks carried her bat for 38 as the home side
reached their target with a six in only the 19th over.
